Description

Explore the striking beauty and hidden corners of Arches National Park on this guided 4x4 adventure. Journey beyond the crowds into a red rock landscape of towering arches, sculpted fins, and fossil-rich terrain—areas few visitors ever see.

The off-road trail begins near Doc Williams Point and climbs a short rock wall before crossing sandy valleys and winding through sandstone formations. Along the way, view geological highlights such as the Marching Men, Tower Arch, and Eye of the Whale. Finish the route on an old cowboy trail, stopping to see preserved dinosaur tracks before returning to Moab.

This rugged terrain was once buried beneath miles of sediment. Over millions of years, erosion revealed a unique geological story. Hidden salt layers forced rock layers upward, cracking the sandstone. Water seeped in, slowly carving out fins and arches through freeze-thaw cycles and chemical erosion.

Today, Arches National Park is home to over 2,000 natural arches. This tour offers a fascinating look into both the park’s dramatic formations and the quiet solitude of its lesser-traveled backcountry.

For your convenience, hotel pick-up from most centrally located Moab hotels and campgrounds is available upon request. Alternatively, you are welcome to meet at the NAVTEC Expedition office on Main Street 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
