Is there a weight limit?

The maximum weight limit per passenger is 300lbs, and 1,240lbs for the total weight of passengers on the helicopter. Please note that guests over the weight limit will need to purchase two seats, and inaccurately stated body weights may result in cancelation without a refund. Individual passenger weights including infants must be advised at time of booking unless booked within 2 days of travel.

Are pregnant women allowed to board the helicopter?

Yes, pregnant guests fly with Maverick Helicopters often. However, it is always recommended to check with your doctor before booking.

Can I fly to the Grand Canyon if I am in a wheelchair?

Yes, however, guests who require wheelchair assistance must be accompanied by another passenger who can assist in entering and exiting the helicopter. Pilots are unable to assist passengers boarding and disembarking due to insurance regulations. Collapsible wheelchairs can be transported in Maverick Helicopters in most cases as the aircraft is ADA compliant.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, casual attire.

What do I need to bring?

All passengers age 18 and older must bring a valid photo ID, and all children ages 23 months and under must have a birth certificate. Also, remember to bring your camera, sunblock, hats, hair ties, sunglasses, and bottled water—other beverages are not permitted on the flight.

Can I use my cellphone during the flight?

Yes, but only for taking photos and videos while your mobile phone is set to airplane mode before boarding. If using a camera instead, your mobile device must be turned off before boarding. Calls, messaging, and data use are prohibited on the helicopter.

Can I bring a camera on my tour? Can I take pictures of the aircraft?

Yes, guests are encouraged to take photos and videos on board the helicopters. The use of professional cameras and action cameras such as GoPros is welcome, but please note that flash photography is prohibited. You can also take pictures of the aircraft after landing, but not on the airport ramp.
