Are there restrooms when we land at the Grand Canyon?

Unfortunately, there are no restrooms at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

Is the helicopter tour recommended for children? Can my child sit on my lap?

Yes, the helicopter tour is fun for all ages! But minor passengers must be accompanied by adults. Children 2 years old and above are required to have their own seat, while children under 2 can only be considered a lap child with proof of age—passport or birth certificate.

Is there a weight limit?

The maximum weight limit is 300 lbs per passenger, with a maximum total combined weight limit of 1,240 lbs. Please note that guests exceeding the 300-lb per-passenger weight limit will need to purchase an additional seat. Inaccurately stated body weights may result in cancelation without a refund.

Are pregnant women allowed to board the helicopter?

Yes, pregnant guests fly with Maverick Helicopters often. However, it is always recommended to check with your doctor before booking.

What do I need to bring?

Guests 18 and older must bring a valid, original government-issued photo ID (REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or passport). Photocopies or digital images are not accepted. Cameras, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are also recommended.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended.

Can I bring a beverage on the flight?

Guests are allowed to bring bottled water on the flight. All other beverages will not be allowed in the helicopter.

Can I use my cellphone during the flight?

Yes, but use it only for taking photos and videos—calls, messaging, and data use are prohibited on the helicopter. Set your mobile phone on airplane mode or turn it off before boarding. Please note that flash photography is not allowed.

Can I take pictures of the aircraft?

Yes, you can take pictures of the aircraft after landing, but not on the airport ramp.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled flight. This allows time for check-in, weigh-in, seating configuration, and the pilot safety briefing.

When will I be boarding the helicopter?

You will be called for boarding 15 minutes before their scheduled departure time. This 15-minute window allows adequate time for the pilot to conduct a safety briefing and a Maverick team member to take a photo of your group in front of the helicopter.

Is transportation included?

No. This is a self-arrival tour. Guests are required to make their own way to Grand Canyon West Airport.

Is Grand Canyon West the same as the South Rim?

No. Grand Canyon West is a separate area from Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim) and is located 3.5 hours away by car.

Do I need a park ticket to join this tour?

Yes. A Grand Canyon West general admission ticket (additional fee) is required for entry into the park and is not included with this helicopter tour.
